Iniciativas APDC Reconhecer trabalho inovador do talento jovem Distinguir as melhores dissertações de mestrado em Telecomunicações, TI e Media, para destacar desta forma o trabalho desenvolvido pelos jovens talentos que estão a terminar a sua formação superior é o objetivo do Prémio Best Thesis Award, que em 2023 já vai na sua 3ª edição. A iniciativa, que tem contado com o patrocínio da Axians Portugal, é realizada em parceria com o Consórcio das Escolas de Engenharia (CEE) e é reservada aos alunos que tenham concluído um dos mestrados numa das Escolas do CEE, no ano letivo de 2021/2022. Nesta edição, também os alunos de mestrado das Academias envolvidas no Programa UPSkill puderam candidatar-se. Foram apresentados um total de 52 trabalhos. Cada um dos vencedores recebeu um prémio, no valor de 1.500€ por cada uma das 3 áreas – Tecnologias de Informação, Telecomunicações e Media. De acordo com o Regulamento do BTA, os critérios para a avaliação assentaram na originalidade e carácter inovador (50%) e no impacto social - aplicação e utilidade social (50%). Os vencedores, anunciados no âmbito da edição de 2023 do Congresso da APDC, foram, por categoria: - TI | Vladyslav Mosiichuk, Mestrado em Engenharia Electrotécnica e de Computadores do Instituto Politécnico do Porto (Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto | ISEP), com a dissertação “Deep Learning for Automated Adequacy Assessment of Cervical Cytology Samples; - Telecomunicações | Pedro Miguel Nicolau Escaleira, Mestrado em Cibersegurança da Universidade de Aveiro, com a dissertação “Securing Real World 5G MEC Deployments”; - Media | Beatriz Almeida Miranda, Mestrado em Multimédia, Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto, com a dissertação “Immersive VR eHealth Strategies: VR games to treat schizophrenia negative symptoms”. Recognising the innovative work of young talent Honouring the best master’s dissertations in Telecommunications, IT and Media, in order to highlight the work carried out by young talents who are completing their higher education, is the aim of the Best Thesis Award, which in 2023 is already in its 3rd edition. The initiative, which has been sponsored by Axians Portugal, is organised in partnership with the Consortium of Engineering Schools (CEE) and is reserved for students who have completed a master’s degree at one of the CEE schools in the 2021/2022 academic year. In this edition, master’s students from the Academies involved in the UPSkill Programme were also able to apply. A total of 52 entries were submitted. Each of the winners received a prize worth €1,500 for each of the 3 areas - Information Technology, Telecommunications and Media. According to the BTA Regulations, the assessment criteria were based on originality and innovative character (50 per cent) and social impact - application and social usefulness (50 per cent).
