Este relatório, mostra o universo de protagonistas ativos do setor, embora não na sua totalidade. Mas a quantidade e diversidade dos players identificada evidencia a forma como o mercado se tem desenvolvido nos anos mais recentes. Assim, as empresas de RA/RV já operam num vasto conjunto de mercados verticais, evidenciando o nível de maturidade do ecossistema e o valor da pool de talento que está a começar a gerar. Uma grande parte está a desenvolver soluções de software, mas muitas das empresas trabalham para setores tão variados com a agricultura, saúde, imobiliário, conteúdos, retalho, turismo, indústria 4.0, gaming ou educação.

Hopefully,thesenumbersanddiversitywillgrowin2021,along withtheVR/ARmarketworldwide:5Gisrollingout,allowingfor new,excitingVR/ARusecases;VRheadsetspricepointis decreasing,whiletheiravailabilityisontheriseandmost smartphonemakersarenowlaunchingsmartglassesmodels. Besidesinfrastructureandhardware,VR/ARapplicationsare becomingmoreandmorecommonintheB2Bsegment.Of course,thiscreatesahugedemandforVR/ARspecificskillsets– andevencreatesnewjobprofiles. Moreover,morestartupsarepoppingupwithintheimmersive space,lookingforsmartmoney,mentorshipandallkindsof supporttohaveabetterandlongerrunway,whiletheyprovetheir businessconceptandstartnewinvestmentrounds. Finally,academicandcorporateresearchcentersarenow,again morethanever,awareofthetransformationalopportunity immersivetechnologiescarryandtheirroleindeveloping knowledge-basedsolutions. Andofcourse,toleveragetheseopportunities,whilstcopingwith thepandemic,immersivetechbusinessesarelookingtoreduce risksintheirinvestment. Portugalcanhelpwiththat. Albeitbeingasmallcountry,Portugal’stalentpoolattracts internationalprofessionalslookingforapeacefulandstable country,withamuti-culturalbackgroundandahighqualityoflife. Fromdigitalnomads,thatfindorganizedpeercommunitiesready toembracethem,toportuguese-speakingtalentabroad,that seektoenterothermarketsandamulticulturalsettingtodevelop newlanguageskills.Ohandweareranked#7globallyonthe EnglishProficiencyIndex. SittingontheedgeofEurope,Portugalhasaclosertimezoneto theAmericancontinentthananyothercountryintheEU,which makesiteasiertoentertheEuropeanmarketthroughPortugal,if you’recomingfromCanada,theUnitedStatesorMexico.Through theVR/ARAssociation,wekeepincontactwithseveralofthese countries’chapterstostreamlinepartnershipsorrequests. OurconnectiontoBrazilisalsoveryimportantandnotjustdueto ourculturalsimilarities–moreandmoreorganizationsarelooking totapintoa200+millionpeoplemarketthroughPortugalandwe arealsocreatingcooperationopportunitieswithVRARABrazil. Thereareofficialco-investmentopportunities(i.e.www.200m.pt fund)andpre-establishedpartnershipsthatcanhelpinseveral waystosoftenyourlandinginourecosystem.Justreachoutto us.
